Ok, I know I am behind the times here, but bear with me. Tonight we are having, what the recipe calls, "Thirsty Bird". I know you have all seen the $3.99 wire rack that you put a can of open (open is important) beer in and then place a chicken, upright, in a not so flattering, spread eagle position on top of the can. You put this whole thing on the grill and when the chicken is done it is supposed to be tender and juicy.
This is something I have wanted to try to make for some time now, but our gas grill committed, as my husband would say, "sewer pipe" (suicide) last year and we haven’t gotten around to replacing it yet. So, I thought I would try to make this thing in the oven instead.
The recipe said that you can use soda or even water in the can. I may try that next time since I am not too fond of the smell of beer…
Not too bad, eh? It was yummy…
Most unfortunately, someone I know made this meal using orange soda as the liquid… my advice: DON’T!!
