Today I have a nifty, non-fibery project to show you. I recently got a new computer and wanted to do something to make it all mine. Being an only child, I never really had much use for making things “unique.” There were never any siblings to compete with and no real reason to “label” anything as mine. Now that my husband and I have the same laptop, I thought it would be fun to decorate mine somehow. After some searching I came across skins. You may be familiar with them. Many people buy them for their phones. It is truly incredible how many are out there and how many things you can stick them to.
Anyway, I did a little research and found that the ones for phones and laptops, etc., were made from vinyl. After a little more digging, I found this stuff at my local craft superstore.
So, of course, I had to make my own. I found an image I really liked, re-sized it in Photoshop and printed it on one of the vinyl sheets. Next I trimmed away the excess background of the image and put it in place. Here are the results.
So, what do you think? The only thing I don’t like is the transparency of her hand. The Apple is quite bright, so I will have to think about how to fix this. Other than that, I love it and it was so easy!! There were several sheets in the package, so I can see doing this again when this one wears out. Fun times!!
Oh…I like that! Too totally fun!
